"I Can't" Said the Ant

The *perfect* book for teaching rhyming. So much fun!
summary: "Teapot fell," said the dinner bell. "Is she dead? asked the bread. "Broke her spout," said the trout. "Push her up," said the cup. "I can't," said the ant. "Please try," said the pie. This classic tale tells the story of how the 'residents' of a kitchen work together to lift up and replace a teapot that fell from the sink. Written by Polly Cameron, this book is so rhythmic it's actually a blast to read. Given that it was originally published five decades ago (wow!), the illustrations are admittedly a bit simplistic by modern standards, but don't let that stop you. Kids still love this book.
Teacher Tip: We use this book when teaching rhyming. Our students love to guess the rhyming word that ends each short sentence. We've also heard that some teachers use it for teaching sequencing, AND it's a fantastic story for teaching the power of teamwork!
Book Type: read aloud / picture book
Condition: This book is used but it is in good condition. Occasionally there's the previous owner's name or inscription on the inside front cover. Overall though, we are very proud of the quality of our books!
