summary:  A large dog walks up to a little boy playing with a truck, the boy tells it to go away, but the dog stays looking at him. The dog, with a stick in his mouth, wants the boy to throw it for him, so he does so he'll go away, but he brings it back. The boy starts to walk home but the dog follows him, wagging his tail. Then he rolls over and the boy is impressed and says to do it again, after which he shakes hands with the boy. Then they have fun running together, and the boy gives up and lets him go home with him.  Written by Joan L. Nodset;  illustrated by Paul Meisel.
