Winter's Tail...
by Juliana Hatkoff, Isabella Hatkoff

...How One Little Dolphin Learned to Swim Again. This is the story of Winter the bottlenose dolphin who was injured after being mangled in a crab trap off the coast of Florida.  This injury caused her to lose her tail.  The injured Winter was brought to Clearwater Marine Aquarium where she first learns to swim without her tail by moving her body with a side-to-side motion.  Winter’s new way of swimming raised great concern when they figured out that by swimming this unnatural way, Winter’s spine and internal organs were being injured.  The solution to this problem came from a miracle of technology that has never been done before.
